This just in

I have been accepted to the graduate program at the Technion. This does not mean that I will go: I have yet to see any of the details, which are being mailed to me in a package that I can hopefully redirect to my Israel address. Better yet, a MEET trip with the kids to the Technion this Tuesday will give me the opportunity to try and discuss things in person. Yesterday: lots of practice lecture work (I’m feeling pretty confident, both about myself and about the team as a whole, but we have a lot of work to do), a trip to the Jerusalem mall to do some grocery and other shopping, and a gin and tonic with rather more gin than I expected.

Today: we visit the campus rooms we’ll be using, and then there’s lots more work to do.

Tomorrow: practice lectures in front of all the MEET staff, and a tour of Jerusalem.
